Country Singer, Whitney Doucet, to announce
GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

Studio vocal coach, Whitney Doucet, has been placed on the Official Ballot for this year’s Grammy Awards! She is nominated for awards in the following categories:

Best Country Song
Whitney Doucet – ‘LongRoad’
Songwriters: Whitney Doucet and Jon Ellis, Eric Thibaut

Best Country Solo Performance
Whitney Doucet – ‘Long Road’

This amazing accomplishment did not come to Whitney by a stroke of luck. She has spent countless hours perfecting her craft and building her resume. When asked about her journey to this point, she responded, “I’ve been performing, in a band, or doing national anthems for over ten years! That’s 3,650 days of singing, taking voice lessons, singing more, writing songs, performing, preparing for a performance, memorizing lyrics, doing hair and makeup, writing emails, booking gigs, driving to gigs, band rehearsals, winning, losing, and a whole lot of sweat and tears.

The most intimidating thing to me as a kid when talking about the music business was the UNKNOWN. ‘How will I know hundreds of songs? How do I move my body on stage? What do I say to an audience if the band has a pause?’

The best way to learn is to do. That’s the honest truth.

I did not fill my bio with accomplishments like Gillette Stadium, singing a duet with Keith Urban, performing for over 100,000 people for NASCAR and a million viewers live on ABC, opening for country acts and having my song Long Road placed on the official ballot for the Grammy awards after one month of deciding I wanted to be a singer. I did not fill my bio after five years of being a singer, but what did happen was I gained experience, confidence and connections and ten years later I am able to say all of the baby steps turned into something that I am proud of.

It’s important for artists to know the work that goes into being a performer. When you gain an amazing experience, know that you can use that as an open door to other experiences. And once you gain another you can grab onto more. But you can’t expect anyone to do the work for you.

Let me repeat that. You can’t expect anyone to do the work for you. No amount of money is going to make you a great performer if you do not take the skills you are learning and PRACTICE them, and apply them yourself.

We’re given opportunities in life and we can take them or let them pass by.

Luckily for myself, and you artists, Patrice Peris Voice Studios helps their artists stay on track. If your goal is to be a full time musician, performer, singer you’re offered the tools it takes to  hone in on your vocal abilities and learn through performing, master classes, and group classes.

It takes dedication and effort. BUT if you have a vision I encourage you to go for it.”

Studio owner, Patrice Peris was happy to be able to help Whitney in any way that she could. When speaking about Whitney’s great accomplishment, she said, “I’m so thrilled for Whitney who has worked so hard! I have watched her for the past ten years and she has really put in the time and dedication to reach this amazing accomplishment. Here at the studio, we have spent countless hours working to build our email list of industry contacts and this is a prime example of preparation meets opportunity. When Whitney’s press release of her latest single “Long Road” was sent out to our email list, one of the contacts noticed it and reached out about representing her. So to all of you artists out there, improving upon your craft, keeping up with marketing trends, and hard work yields results.”
