It is an interesting thing I have observed with artists walking through the doors. Many say, “Patrice, I just want to know if I can sing” to which I tell them, “anyone can sing, it is a matter of where they are at and the amount of time needed to get a pro sound that varies from person to person. There is also a mindset we must take on and that is to decide to BE a singer.”
You see, I don’t care what level the artist walks in at. I have had unlimited amounts of talent walk through the door and regardless of where their actual ability is it is interesting to see that many, who are actually at a great starting point, do not believe they are a singer. They tend to doubt themselves and are missing a key ingredient in success and that is simply taking on the persona of “being” a singer. Deciding that they are a singer. Without deciding to “be” it, you will tend to not take the action that singers do take, which ultimately leads to success.
