Highlights from the Spirit of Shrewsbury Weekend!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On Saturday September 26th and Sunday the 27th  hundreds of people came out to participate in the 19th Annual Spirit of Shrewsbury!  A variety of events took place on Saturday, including a full craft fair, town expo, and, of course, amazing entertainment.  On Sunday, the festivities were wrapped up with a parade.  Thankfully, both days were picture perfect festival days, and between the full craft section, town expo, food trucks, and amazing talent, there was definitely something for everyone!

On Saturday, Patrice Peris Voice Studios took to the stage and with an outstanding lineup of talent.  Opening the show was Herman Jones whose old school charm and stellar vocals set the stage for the rest of the day.  Cate Toole showcased her smooth yet raspy vocals with some Elle King and Vance Joy.  Up next, John Miwanda debuted his latest original and treated the audience to some Ed Sheeran and Banks with acoustic guitar.  Representing the Country side of things, Melanie Mulrain brought a bit of a sweet and sassy vibe to the stage.  Newcomer to the studio, Emilee Ellis wowed the audience with a her take of Megan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” and gave a performance a lot bigger than her ten-year-old self.  Keeping the momentum rolling, Ciara “C” Cargiulo brought her high energy to the stage and gave the audience quite the show with a variety of songs by artists ranging from Christina Aguilera to Billy Joel.  Another newcomer to the studio, Juliana Noke slowed things down with her version of Rihanna’s “Stay” which would have made the singer proud. Veronica Homand’s silky vocals were well suited to her Joss Stone cover “Right to Be Wrong” which left the audience wanting more, and Adessa Rivera showed her dramatic side with her take on “Let it Go” which is always a crowd pleaser.  Finishing off the day was Kassie Sakhat who broke out Elton John’s “Benny and the Jets,” a perfect end to the show.

As if Saturday’s events were not exciting enough, Sunday was equally as amazing.  With beautiful weather, the parade was ready to start with a record high of 100 participants, including antique cars, a variety of local businesses, and the Saint John’s Jazz Band.  Patrice Peris Voice Studios had the honor of finishing off the parade.  With everything geared up, the crowd was treated to some live entertainment from a float carrying a talented group of artists: Kassie Sakhat, Melanie Mulrain, Veronica Homand, Cate Toole, John Miwanda, Isabella Vukmirovits, Adessa Rivera, Emalie Kurko, and Studio owner Patrice Peris.
