Not only does Casie Ann have talent as a rising alternative/pop singer, but she also believes music has power. Casie states music should bring people “harmony and happiness,” which definitely comes across in her friendly demeanor. For Casie, music is much more than just singing; it is a source of joy for listeners. Casie hopes to spread love and appreciation when she begins writing her own songs in the future. Already, Casie is showing selflessness by performing at her school’s open mic nights benefiting suicide prevention organizations. Her next performance, at Cafe Edesia in Gardner, MA from 5 – 9 PM on April 14th, is actually a fundraiser for youth suicide prevention
Still, Casie may not be as calm as she seems, and could even be a bit of an adrenaline junkie. She loves moving to the beat while singing. Her most memorable performance moments were letting loose while singing songs by Carrie Underwood and KT Tunstall. Other influences include Ed Sheeran, Melanie Martinez, and Chris Daughtry.
Since the third grade Casie has been participating in school musicals, but recently started taking voice lessons at Patrice Peris Voice Studios. A gig, booked through the studio, at Watchusett Mountain Kids Fest made Casie want to really pursue her talent as a singer, and she dedicated herself to her voice lessons with Whitney. Since beginning her lessons, Casie said she “…has developed my voice and my range… in choir where I have always been an Alto, I have been moved up to 2nd Soprano.” Additional workshops offered by the studio have also proved helpful to Casie as a performer. A performance workshop, which she liked so much she is doing it again, helped her understand songs “like a story being told” so she could perform to engage the audience.
Casie is definitely proving to be a gracious artist as she is grateful to Whitney for helping her with more than just singing. She stated “Whitney is the sweetest person and has helped me with my overall outlook on life; I look up to her.” Patrice and Whitney believe Casie has shown tremendous growth since working with Patrice Peris Voice Lesson Studios. Patrice says “it has been amazing to see Casie develop as a singer and performer since starting her lessons. She has such drive and passion.” Since beginning her lessons with Whitney, Casie has performed at open mics at NU Cafe and at Cafe Estadia. These are only the first steps in Casie’s bright future as an artist.
