Blog Post from Studio Owner, Patrice Peris

“Since COVID-19, one of the positives that has come about is an awareness of hygiene and making sure to be clean. As a neat freak, I am thrilled about this. But today I want to address something else you should get rid of and I’m not talking about germs.

I have stressed this point in other posts but I wanted to reiterate it, as it truly is a vital factor in your success.Whether you are just breezing through as a social scroller, an artist looking, or in the field, I hope you take a moment and read this. I know I need this reminder on a yearly basis. So here it goes….

An Artist’s Guide to the Music Industry – Episode 9

Who has watched someone perform and the vocals are spot on but you still find yourself not completely pulled in? There’s just something missing. Most of the time, it’s probably because that performer isn’t connected to what they’re singing. It is so important that as artists, we connect and understand what we are singing. If we don’t feel a connection, then the audience sure won’t either.

Episode 1 – Set Your Goals!

Here at Patrice Peris Voice Studios, we understand that it can be difficult being an artist and trying to navigate your way in the music industry. So in order to help out all you artists out there trying to build your careers, we created a YouTube series: “An Artist’s Guide to the Music Industry.” Each episode features a helpful tip for how to progress your career as an artist. In Episode 1, “Set Your Goals!” studio owner and vocal coach, Patrice Peris goes over the importance of setting goals for yourself and pushing yourself to make your dreams a reality.

New Blog from Studio Owner, Patrice Peris: Debunking the myth that you need to be “naturally talented” in order to become a singer

It is so interesting to me that so many people have the idea that you need to be “naturally talented” in order to venture into the world of singing. Now I am not going to say that it hurts to have this innate ability to hear some notes and repeat them back, but I would argue there is an even more important factor that outweighs this in determining whether or not someone becomes a professional “grade A” singer.

Patrice Peris’ Latest Blog Post: Let’s Make It Happen!

I am a firm believer that the first steps to making something happen is stating that you want to make it happen. You don’t get what you don’t ask for. This may seem simple and you may be thinking “duh,” but you would be surprised how often people hold themselves back from putting out there in the world what they really want. I deal with people on a daily basis and often ask what their goals are, only to be met with an uneasy voice answering, “not sure” or “if I could” in response.

Success is not the destination, it’s the journey.

Ever since moving to Nashville I realized that I not only didn’t quite know my current place in the industry, but I also am not sure where I’m headed or exactly what I want. I’ve found it to be difficult accepting that your dreams and goals can change as you grow up. Do I want to be an artist? Songwriter? Work behind the scenes? Do I even want to work in the music industry or do I just want to be a fan? I still don’t know the answers to these questions and I think that is something a lot of people can relate to.

Patrice Peris Blog: To Buy Or Not To Buy, That Is The Question!

The world of social media can be a huge asset to an artist and help to introduce them to people from all over. It can also be a bit of a popularity contest and numbers game. The more followers, likes, comments, and views you have, the better it is; or at least viewed.  With this being said, many apps understand this and allow you to buy likes and even comments. With it being a numbers game in all, it can be tempting to want to just buy likes/comments.
