Featured Artist of the Month: Aarika Singh

Aarika Singh stepped into Patrice Peris Voice Studios a year and a half ago and has been propelling forward as a musician ever since. With her upbeat energy and positive attitude, Aarika brings her all to every lesson and it shows in her performances! Aarika says that her parents are to thank for love for music. “Me and my mom always used to sing together and then I started singing some of my favorite songs just for fun. Honestly, I have to thank my parents who kept up with me. I have a video singing from a while ago and I definitely needed improvement. Because of their encouragement, I started singing more often, became better, and started voice lessons.” 

Aarika describes herself as a pop and country artist, enjoying music from both genres. She credits Brendan Urie, Taylor Swift, and Demi Lovato with being her musical inspirations. “I am inspired by Brendan Urie who had a sever case of ADHD and still wrote incredible music. He showed me that if you try hard enough, you will reach your goal. Next is Taylor Swift. After being painted by the media as a terrible person and a heart breaker, she made an amazing comeback and showed the world who she really is.” 

When asked about her experience at the studio, Aarika said, “My experience at Patrice Peris Voice Studios has been really great! I love the workers, place, and environment. I am less shy with my singing. My voice teacher, Whitney Doucet, taught me how to grow my voice in ways I never thought could happen. I enjoy singing, and music in general more because of my time at the studio!” 

Not only just a talented singer, Aarika is also a skilled pianist. She has performed at piano recitals and regularly performs at studio events such as open mics. Aarika plans to continue to widen her range both vocally and in regards to musical genres. “I want to explore more genres of music such as jazz, rock, and much more.”

It has been amazing having Aarika at the studio and we can’t wait to continue to watch her grow and develop as an artist!
