Featured Artist of the Month: Marissa Blaire

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Patrice Peris Voice Studio artist Marissa Blaire describes herself as having a multi-faceted music personality.  Her sound is a blend of Pop, R&B and Gospel so it comes as no surprise that her musical idols include Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly, and Alessia Cara.  That said, her musical influences go back much further than that.  In fact, Marissa’s musical passion started at home “My family has always liked to create music whenever we get the chance to spend time together.”  Though she has always had a passion for it, it wasn’t until Marissa joined her college’s Gospel choir that she began to take music seriously. “When I observed my colleagues doing complex stuff with their solos it woke up the competitive nature in me. I desired to not only sing like them, maybe even better… (I wanted) to be the absolute best singer I can be.”  
Marissa has been working on her vocal and artist development skills at Patrice Peris Voice Studios for about a year now.  “When I first started taking lessons with Patrice I was introduced to different aspects of vocal technique, such as how to breath diaphragmatically, how to properly warm up, to stretch before singing etc. This has helped me to really think about how to take care of my voice so that I can sing to the best of my ability.”  Marissa has begun performing regularly at churches, open mics, Faneuil Hall, and the Westborough Fest.  She is currently preparing for her upcoming audition with the North American Talent Search. And as for her future goals, Marissa plans on exploring the world of songwriting and eventually recording and releasing her own album!
